Emily’s Gotcha Day Party

By , April 26, 2009 11:14 am

Last Sunday, we celebrated Emily’s Gotcha Day with other families that have adopted from Vietnam. We tried to take pictures of everyone, but they are mostly action shots. All the children are getting more active. We got everyone except Jack. It was fun to see everyone! (I hope I spelled everyone’s names right in the captions.)

In between the April showers, Scott, Elise, and I went outside to enjoy the weather on Saturday.

Last Installment of Easter Weekend

I thought you needed to see the pictures of everyone hanging out while Scott planted the tree. Plus, you can see all the visitors Elise had. She has a lot of family names to learn!

Planting Crape Myrtles

By , April 13, 2009 7:02 pm

On Saturday, we had a family project: plant two small crape myrtles. The crape myrtles are rocket red, so hopefully they bloom. Anyway, we only had one shovel, so Scott had to do all the work with a little assistance. I just documented the process. :) But I love my new trees! (I know they look like bushes right now, but they’ll grow.)

So, Scott, Elise, and I had my family in town for Easter. We were pretty busy. Here are just a couple pictures with more to come.

Elise is growing!

By , April 6, 2009 8:06 pm

So, I have some comparison photos of Elise in Vietnam at 6 months and Elise now at almost 10 months. Now she actually fits in the 6 month clothing we took to Vietnam. Woohoo!

She went to the pediatrician last Thursday, and she weighs 14 pounds (below 5th percentile). Her head measures in the 25th percentile and she’s 26 and 1/2 inches (20th percentile). The pediatrician assured me that Elise would probably be on the chart if we used a Southeast Asian growth chart as it is she measures a little low compared to all the Caucasians. :) Anyway, here are pictures of our growing girl! (Her birthday is two months away. How did that happen?!)
