Elise is 15 months old, and she has been home for nine months. One week after having both Type A and Type B flus, she had her 15 month check up; she gained 1 pound and grew 1 inch since her 12 month appointment. She is now a whopping 16 pounds and 28 1/2 inches tall, so we are getting there. She can start wearing all the clothes we got at baby showers last year; it just look her a year to grow into them. But, Elise’s tiny packaging contains a big personality; the pictures say it all. She is going to be a great big cousin! (Both my sister and my older brother’s wife are pregnant, and they are due a week apart in March. Elise will get to practice all her bossiness.)

It has been quite a weekend in McClellan Town, let me tell you. Why? Well, the little one came down with the flu! Our three-day holiday weekend turned into wrangling an ailing but active toddler … not exactly what we had planned. The good news is that Elise’s fever has subsided and me and Annie managed to keep from coming down with flu bugs of our own.

The other good news is that Annie and I put together a little summer highlight reel of some of our favorite Elise moments (that we managed to capture on video anyway). Grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy:
